FAQ's Wall Mounted & Free Standing Bio Fuel Fires

How does a Bio Fuel wall mounted fire work?
Our range of wall mounted Bio Fuel Fires are designed with simplicity in mind.  Simply screw the bracket provided to your chosen wall, hang your fire on the bracket, remove the fuel reservoir and fill with the Bio ethanol fire liquid to the recommended fill level of 75%, light with a taper of extended lighter. It will take 5 - 10 minutes for the fuel to heat up and for the flame to turn golden.  There is no requirement for a chimney or flue making it an excellent alternative to gas or electric fires. Thebio ethanol fire can be extinguished by using the extinguishing tool or sliding mechanism provided.
How does a Bio Fuel freestanding fire work?
After positioning the fire on a stable surface simply remove the fuel reservoir and fill with the Bio ethanol fire liquid to the recommended fill level of 75%, light with a taper of extended lighter. It will take 5 - 10 minutes for the fuel to heat up and for the flame to turn golden.  There is no requirement for a chimney or flue. The bio ethanol fire can be extinguished by using the extinguishing tool or sliding mechanism provided.
What is Bio fuel?
Our fires run on a bio ethanol fuel which is a liquid alcohol derived from the fermentation of crops. The fuel burns cleanly only producing carbon dioxide and water vapour in similar amounts to when we exhale. It is therefore considered Eco Friendly and with no harmful toxins there is no requirement for a chimney or a flue.
Where can I use Bio Fuel wall mounted fires?
Our Bio Fuel Wall Mounted Fires can be used in most situations where you have a wall space.  Just choose a wall that can support the weight of your chosen fire internal or external. They are completely safe to use indoors without the need for a chimney or flue.  They should be screwed to a suitable wall surface using the bracket provided and suitable fixings for the wall construction.  Care should be taken around children and pets and a suitable fireguard used in these situations. The bio ethanol fire should be installed away from flammable materials (e.g. curtains / sofas etc.). Bear in mind that a strong draft will fan the flames from side to side.
Where can I use a Free Standing Bio Fuel Fire?
As long as you have a stable surface and sufficient space our free standing bio fuel fires can be used anywhere indoors or out.  The bio ethanol fire should be installed away from flammable materials (e.g. curtains / sofas etc.). Bear in mind that a strong draft will fan the flames from side to side.
Where can I buy replacement fuel?
You can buy replacement Bio ethanol fuel from us on line at any time and we will deliver it to your door.
How hot does the fire get?
As our range of Bio Fuel fires burn a large flame naturally this will produce heat almost instantly. Our fires are manufactured from high quality materials however the fuel reservoirs and the outer surface of the bio ethanol fire will get very hot and these areas should not be touched until the unit has cooled for several minutes after use.
How large are the flames and can I vary their size?
The size of the flame is determined predominantly by the size of the fuel reservoir being used most models are supplied with an adjustable mechanism on the fuel reservoir which allows the flame to be adjusted (see individual model technical spec for further information).
Will the fire set off my smoke alarm if used indoors?
The Bio Fuel that we supply burns without smoke, fumes or odour therefore it will not set off a smoke alarm
What if I spill the fuel?
Try to avoid spilling any fuel when filling the bio ethnaol fire  by using a funnel or jug.  If this does happen then carefully wipe away all the spilt liquid. The fire should not be lit until all the spilt liquid is cleaned up. Do not refill or light a reservoir immediately after or during use - allow cooling for several minutes before relighting - warm fuel vapours in the reservoir need time to cool and either condense or disperse before relighting.
How much Fuel will I use?
The rate at which the fuel burns is determined predominantly by the size of the fuel reservoir being used. Average fuel burn times are detailed within the technical specification of each product.  An hour’s burn time will normally cost less than £1 in fuel depending on the size of flames and amount of fuel purchased (the more you purchase the cheaper it costs).
What if I am not satisfied with my bio ethanol fire?
